Hiccups

  • trying to squeeze our trailer into the yard of our host

We have now travelled to two urban areas where we did not step foot into the main city: Portland and Seattle. We were there to see friends, with some nature sprinkled in. What a beautiful state!

Here is a photo tour.

A golden retriever stands on grass near an RV with text on its window. Sunny day, clear sky, and trees in the background, creating a serene mood.
Simple sites on the water at Fay Bainbridge Campground -- the only place to camp on Bainbridge Island
shoes on a long piece of driftwood on a beach
Beach "art" on the Fay Bainbridge campground beach. Do people really forget that many full pairs of shoes on the beach?
Waterfall cascading into a river surrounded by lush green forest and cliffs, with mist rising in the air. A small bridge is visible above.
Snoqualmie Falls -- the world's first underground hydroelectric facility (the outlet on the right).
White camper and truck parked on grassy field. Cloudy sky; picnic table and fire pit nearby. Text visible on camper window.
Camping at a farm near Duvall through the app Hipcamp.
Person trimming a tree branch with a saw in a sunny garden. A red car is parked nearby. Lush greenery and blue sky in the background.
Some complimentary pruning so our trailer can squeeze in the yard of a friend.
Sunlit room with leather chair, plants, and floor lamp. Large windows show a green landscape and blue sky. Peaceful atmosphere.
The superb view of the Olympic Peninsula from our friend on Whidbey Island.
Two sea lions swim in clear blue ocean water, one partially submerged and the other with head above surface, creating a tranquil scene.
Stellar Sea Lions (big guys!) just off the shore of Whidbey Island
Bald eagle perched on driftwood by a rocky shoreline, with a forested background and a snow-capped mountain in the distance, under clear skies.

Silhouette of a hummingbird feeding on a blue glass feeder at dusk, with blurred wings against a pale sky background.
Our friend's hummingbird feeder was very popular.
Silhouette of a hummingbird perched on a red feeder against a clear blue sky. The bird's pose is calm and serene.
The other feeder.
Snow-capped mountains in the distance under a pale sky, with layers of blue and purple in the foreground, creating a serene and calm atmosphere.
Telephoto shot of the Olympic Peninsula.
People at a gathering in a spacious hall with blue tablecloths, rocks, and papers on tables. Canadian and American flags are visible above.
Gem show in Monroe, Washington. Got me some carnelian in the silent auction! The piece in front is a massive specimen of petrified wood found in Washington.
